Stephen Heron

Physiotherapist · Founder of Designed Wellbeing

My approach is deliberately comprehensive. I want to understand the whole story, explain what I think is happening in a way that makes sense, and work with you to change the things that are getting in the way of moving well.

I founded Designed Wellbeing as a solution to a problem.

An increasing number of my patients had become frustrated and lost in the medical system. I wanted to create an environment where I could get to the root of why someone was

experiencing pain.

The human body is a complex system made up of many parts working together. When treating the body, we need to understand how those parts connect.

In pursuit of a deeper understanding of how our bodies function, I have studied numerous models of movement throughout my career. These include Functional Range Conditioning (FRC), Kinstretch, Connect Therapy, Structural Integration through Anatomy Trains, and Anatomy in Motion (AiM).

Each of these approaches has given me a different lens through which to look at the body.

I have also spent many years in high-performance sporting environments, including as physiotherapist for the Futsal Whites, Ole Football Academy, and top rugby teams.

When working with patients, I draw on all of my experience to assess the whole body and create an individualised treatment plan.
